Every day we crown one person who made the worst financial decision on the internet.

Today's winner walked into a rug pull that had already been publicly documented. Not a new scam. A known one. With a spreadsheet.

Here's the setup. A guy on r/CryptoCurrency spotted a token called $CRUMBS on Robinhood Chain. It was trending. The chart was going up. That was his entire thesis.

One problem: $CRUMBS was one of 53 tokens launched by a single coordinated rug-pull operation. An onchain analyst had already posted the wallet connections. The thread had 2,000 upvotes.

Our guy didn't read the thread. He read the chart.

He put $186,400 into $CRUMBS and two other tokens from the same ring.

$142,000 into $CRUMBS. $26,600 into $LEGS. $17,800 into $PINK. All three were on the analyst's list. All three had the same deployer wallet.

The group pulled liquidity on all 53 tokens within a week. Total haul: $18.43 million in two months. His share of the damage: $183,216.

The warning was free. The thread was public. The spreadsheet was color-coded. He bought anyway.

Not everybody can be Loss of the Day. But these two gave it a real shot.

Let's run through the tape.

Stellantis stock has been sliding all year. Down from $12 to under $5. Most people saw the chart and kept walking.

u/jeep_believer saw the chart and bought 350 weekly call contracts. STLA $5.50 strikes. His thesis: Q3 sales would show a Jeep turnaround.

Jeep sales fell 20%. Overall Stellantis sales came in flat. The stock dropped 7% to $4.37.

His $42,800 in weekly calls expired worthless on Friday.

For context: Stellantis also paused four French plants in October due to a battery shortage and slower demand. The turnaround he was betting on is not turning around.

When one division is up 29% and the stock still falls 7%, that's the market telling you something. He chose not to hear it.

This one's quick because the position was quick. Forty-seven minutes quick.

Hyperliquid had a scheduled token unlock on October 6. 9.92 million HYPE tokens worth $860 million. That's 4% of circulating supply hitting the market in one batch.

u/hype_or_die knew the unlock was coming. His plan: go long before it, because unlocks are "always priced in."

He opened a 40x long at $92 with $67,500 in margin.

At 40x leverage, a 2.5% drop wipes you out. HYPE dropped 8% in the hour after the unlock. He was gone in 47 minutes.

He posted afterward that he "knew about the unlock" but thought it was priced in. That's the part worth understanding. It was not priced in. It never is.
