GM. This is Dumb Money, rounding up the internet's biggest Ls so you don't make them yourself.
Today's theme: repetition. One guy got liquidated four separate times in under four hours. Same position. Same leverage. Same result.
The other two aren't much better. $292K in combined losses across crypto, options, and a memecoin named after a body of water.
Here's what we've got today:
🏆 Four liquidations. One wallet. Under four hours. $190K gone.
📉 TSLA weekly calls before earnings. The robotaxi was not the catalyst.
⚡ A geopolitical crisis memecoin. The dev sold 22% of supply in hour six.
🤣 Dumb memes from the trenches.

LOSS OF THE DAY 🏆
Every day we crown one person who made the worst financial decision on the internet.
Today's winner didn't make one bad decision. He made the same bad decision four times in a row.
Here's the setup. On October 22nd, Iran claimed attacks on seven vessels in the Persian Gulf. Oil surged above $111. Risk-off sentiment dragged BTC toward $81,000.
Most people saw that headline and closed their laptops. u/btc_or_bust_2026 saw it and opened a 100x long.
He created a fresh wallet. Deposited $47,500. Went 100x long BTC at $82,800.
BTC dropped 1.2% in the first 23 minutes. Liquidated.
Here's where it gets hall-of-fame. He deposited another $47,500. Same trade. Same leverage. Same direction. Liquidated in 18 minutes.
He did it a third time. Liquidated in 14 minutes. And a fourth time. Liquidated in 9 minutes.
Four deposits. Four 100x longs. Four liquidations. $190,000 gone in 3 hours and 47 minutes.
Between each liquidation, he posted on X: "buying the dip." Four tweets. Each one aged worse than the last.

"Lost $190K in 4 liquidations today. Same trade every time. AMA" Went 100x long BTC four separate times. Got liquidated four separate times. Total time holding a position: 64 minutes. Total time between positions re-depositing: 163 minutes. Top comment: "The definition of insanity is doing the same trade four times and expecting a different liquidation price."
|
| Quick math on 100x leverage for non-crypto people: You put up $47,500. The exchange lets you control $4,750,000 worth of Bitcoin. If BTC moves 1% against you - roughly $830 per coin - your entire $47,500 is gone. You are betting that Bitcoin won't move 1% in any direction. Bitcoin moves 1% before most people finish their coffee. |
His fifth and final tweet, posted after the fourth liquidation: "ok maybe not buying the dip."
$190,000 and 64 minutes of total position time too late.

TODAY'S CASUALTIES 💀
Not everybody can be Loss of the Day. But these two gave it a real shot.
Let's run through the tape.
Casualty #1: The Robotaxi Believer
There's a trade that shows up every single TSLA earnings cycle. Someone buys weekly calls. The thesis is always "this is the quarter."
This was not the quarter.
u/robo_taxi_tomorrow bought 80 TSLA $420 weekly calls at $8.40 each on October 21st. Total cost: $67,200. The earnings call was that evening.
His thesis: robotaxi launch timeline would be announced, FSD subscriber numbers would blow out, stock goes to $450.
What actually happened: profit dropped 43%. Optimus pushed to late 2027. Stock gapped down 4% after hours.
Then October 22nd happened. Nasdaq fell 2.6% - its steepest daily drop since June. TSLA tanked.
His $67,200 in weekly calls expired worth $80.
Loss: $67,120.

"TSLA $420c weekly. Same bet, same result. See you next quarter." Bought 80 contracts the morning of earnings. Robotaxi was supposed to be the catalyst. Profit dropped 43% and they pushed Optimus to 2027. Again. Top comment: "At this point just Venmo the premium directly to the market maker. Cut out the middleman."
|
| Quick explainer on weekly options: They expire at the end of the week. If the stock doesn't hit your strike price by Friday, they go to zero. Buying weekly calls before earnings is a binary bet - you need to be right about direction and magnitude, or you lose everything. |
Casualty #2: The Strait of Hormuz Investor
Some people see a geopolitical crisis and buy puts. Some people buy oil futures.
u/war_gains_only saw Iran attack seven ships in the Persian Gulf and bought a memecoin about it.
The coin was called $HORMUZ. Launched on Solana two hours after the news broke. The Telegram had 4,200 members. The pitch: "the first geopolitical crisis token."
That is a real sentence someone wrote. And 4,200 people joined a chat because of it.
The coin pumped 680% in three hours. He bought the peak. $38,700.
The dev wallet held 22% of total supply and dumped it all six hours after launch.
The coin dropped 91% in 40 minutes. His $38,700 became $3,483. Loss: $35,217.

DUMB MEMES 🤣
Every newsletter needs a meme section. Ours just hits different when you're reading it from a wallet that's been liquidated four times today.
💰→📱→📉→💀→💰→📱→📉→💀 (repeat four times. learn nothing.) |
📰💥→🪙🚀→📈→🐋💰→📉→🏕️ (breaking news → new coin → pump → dev dumps → tent) |
the $HORMUZ investment lifecycle, start to finish
If you laughed, you're coping. If you didn't laugh, you're probably in the screenshots.
See you tomorrow. Same losses. Different people. Exact same mistakes.
